Our Why

Built from a poem, a shirt, and a hurt heart

I founded Sisterhood(verb) in 2014 because I kept looking for a space where women — especially Black women — could just be. Not perform. Not educate. Not absorb harm. Just be, in community with each other.

Over 10+ years, this work has changed and reintroduced itself more times than I want to admit. But I kept coming back because I kept needing it.

This app is the newest chapter. And it's the one that finally feels like home.
